Editorial policy

This site publishes two kinds of writing: documentation of the downloader we run, and guides to saving and using OK.ru videos. The standards for each are set out below, along with how to tell us when we get something wrong.

What we speak to from running the tool

The downloader is ours, so what this site says about how it behaves comes from the tool itself rather than from other people's articles. In practice:

• Resolutions are OK.ru's own. The quality options shown for a video are the files OK.ru has published for it. Nothing is upscaled, and a resolution OK.ru does not offer is never listed.
• Supported links are the ones the tool accepts. The link formats described in our guides match the addresses the downloader checks before it runs a lookup.
• Limits are stated as they are. Public videos only, one video per link, and live broadcasts that cannot be saved while running are described plainly on the about page, and the pages describing the tool change when the tool does.
• Privacy claims match how the site is built. The privacy policy lists what the service receives, what OK.ru receives, and that the site sets no cookies.

How guides are written

We do not control OK.ru, so a guide to using it is reporting, not documentation. The rules we hold ourselves to:

• Checked against the real thing. Steps are followed on OK.ru's own website and app before they are described.
• Everything is dated. Menus move and apps change. Every guide carries its publication date and these policy pages carry their last-updated date, so you can judge how far to trust them.
• Copyright is covered in general terms only. Guides that touch on legality explain the general principles and say plainly that they are not legal advice.
• Changes in behaviour are described as changes. When the way this site works changes, the pages describing it say what changed, rather than quietly showing only the new state.

Some guides published before this policy include typical figures — estimated file sizes and download times, for example — that are general illustrations rather than our own measurements. They are being reviewed, and where a figure cannot be supported it will be removed or labelled as an estimate.

Who writes this

Pages are published by OkruDownloader rather than under individual bylines, and the site is accountable for them. We would rather credit the publisher honestly than attach an invented author with invented credentials.

Corrections

If something here is wrong, we want to know, and a specific report is far more useful than a general one. Email dragoninfo13@gmail.com with the page and the claim you are disputing.

How corrections are handled:

• Factual errors are fixed in place, and the page's date changes to reflect the edit.
• Substantive changes are noted on the page rather than silently overwritten, where the earlier wording could have led someone to act on it. The October 2026 rewrite of the privacy policy, described at the end of that page, is an example.
• Routine updates are not annotated. When OK.ru moves a menu and we update a step, the date changes and that is all.

Funding and independence

As of the date at the top of this page:

• No advertising. The site shows no ads and loads no ad code.
• No affiliate links. Nothing here earns a commission when you click it.
• No sponsored articles. No guide, and nothing within one, has been paid for.
• No paid tier. Every feature is free, and none is held back behind a payment.
• No data to sell. There are no accounts, cookies or analytics, and the privacy policy lists everything the service receives.

The footer lists other free tools under "Our Partners". Those links are marked nofollow, so they pass on no search ranking, and they appear only in the footer, never inside a guide. If any of the above changes — advertising, affiliate links or paid placement — it will be disclosed on this page and in the privacy policy before it appears, and labelled where it appears.

What we cannot promise

• OK.ru changes things without notice. A page that was accurate when it was written can be wrong a month later. The dates are there so you can judge.
• We are not affiliated with OK.ru. Nothing here is official documentation, and we have no channel to OK.ru, Odnoklassniki or VK beyond what they publish.
• This is not legal advice. Pages describe copyright in general terms because the subject is unavoidable when discussing downloads. A specific situation needs a lawyer.
