How OkruDownloader handles copyright complaints, why no video is hosted here, and why reporting a video to OK.ru removes it everywhere at once.

Last updated · Published by OkruDownloader

We respect copyright and expect people who use this service to do the same. This page explains what is and is not hosted here, what we can act on, and where a takedown actually takes effect.

What this service hosts

Nothing. OkruDownloader stores no video, image or audio files. Every video stays on OK.ru: when someone saves one, their browser downloads it directly from OK.ru's servers. No library, catalogue, index or archive of content is kept here.

There is no search and no way to browse, either. The tool does nothing until someone pastes a link to a specific public video they already have.

Where a takedown should go

Because the video is hosted by OK.ru, removing it at OK.ru removes it everywhere — from OK.ru itself, from this tool and from every other tool at the same time. That is the fastest and most complete remedy, and we recommend it even if you also write to us.

If your work is on OK.ru without permission

  1. Report it to OK.ru. It hosts the video and is the only party that can remove it. OK.ru has its own procedure for complaints from rights holders.
  2. Report it wherever the link is being posted. Forums, channels and social accounts spreading the link are distributing your work too, and most have their own complaint processes.
  3. Send us the video link if you also want this tool to stop processing it. The next section explains what that involves.

What we do with a valid notice

We read every complete notice and reply to it. Where a notice is valid, we stop this tool from processing the video it identifies and confirm to you when that is done.

What we cannot do is remove the video from OK.ru, or stop anyone who has the link from watching it there or saving it with another tool. That is why the first step above matters most.

Filing a notice with us

Send a written notice that includes all of the following:

  • Your physical or electronic signature.
  • Identification of the copyrighted work you say is being infringed.
  • The full OK.ru link of each video at issue, so we can identify it exactly.
  • Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  • A statement, made under penalty of perjury, that the information in the notice is accurate and that you are the copyright owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

Send notices to dragoninfo13@gmail.com, which is also listed with our other routes on the contact page. A notice missing one of these elements cannot be acted on, and we will tell you which part is missing.

Misrepresentation

Knowingly sending a false or bad-faith notice can create legal liability, including damages, costs and attorneys' fees. Please be sure of your claim before you send it.

Counter-notice

If we stopped processing a video because of a notice and you believe that was a mistake or a misidentification, you can send a counter-notice to the same address. Include your signature, the video link, a statement under penalty of perjury that you believe it was blocked in error, your contact details, and your consent to the jurisdiction of an appropriate court. We forward it to the person who sent the original notice, and lift the block unless they tell us they have started legal action.

Repeat infringement

We may refuse service to anyone who uses this tool for repeated infringement, and videos blocked after a valid notice stay blocked.
